'Total Eclipse of The Sun' is an hour long live theatre production created and performed by The Rising Sun theatre company as a direct critique of the terrible things that Rupert Murdoch and The Sun newspaper have gotten away with in recent decades. Through storytelling, physical theatre, and song, the stories of those who had their lives tainted by The Sun are told. Each ensemble group within the circus represents a different aspect of the newspaper:

The ring leader - Rupert Murdoch.
Acrobats - Photographers.
Clowns - Journalists.
Freaks - The public and the stories that were written about them.

The piece explores The Sun's exploitation of young women such as Samantha Fox for their Page 3 section, and their harmful coverage of the 80s AIDS crisis, the Hillsborough Disaster, the sinking of refugee boats, and Jade Goody's health decline.

An ensemble in various black movement clothing stand in a clump with red and white stripy scarves, the colours of the Liverpool football team who were playing on the day of the Hillsborough disaster. The ensemble's arms and bodies stretch out in different directions in the red tint lighting. Behind them is an image of a uniformed police officer projected on the back wall of the stage. He is one of the officers who was on the scene of the disaster.

'Oh, I am a Liverpudlian, I come from the Spion Kop! I like to sing, I like to shout, I go there quite a lot!'

On a darkened stage with purple lighting, an acrobat dangles from his legs from a red aerial silk and holds Nadia who hovers just above the ground with a big grin on her face.

A blond male presenting person by the name of Cam leans backwards to the left. On Cam's thighs, Nadia stands, leaning backwards to the right, the two of them creating a 'V' shape. Both people reinforce the strength of the pose by holding each other's wrists in a locked grip.

Nadia, a brunette female presenting person, stands at the front of the stage, pointing to themselves as they deliver a monologue. Their hair is up in two space buns, and her costume consists of a black leotard, black footless tights, and black tape wound in a jagged pattern around her right forearm.
