‘DELICIOUS’ is a fifteen minute long debut solo piece criticising society's obsessively toxic and unethical consumption of meat, created, written, and performed by Nadia Laís and will make you think twice about eating the minced meat you have defrosting at home for dinner.

Through satirical dark comedy, ‘DELICIOUS’ invites you to a meeting deep in the caves of carnism, where we shall praise the gift that is animal flesh, the realm below humanity which has gifted us food since the first human walked this earth. Totally casual stuff. To feast on meat is essential to reach your full potential- oh, you’re vegan? That’s terrible. We must expel the malicious organisation of veganism. To choose love and compassion for animals over our heritage as humans is the very pinnacle of extremism! Don’t they know that our dear animals selflessly sacrifice themselves for us? Unrighteous blood has not been spilt here. Or has it?

‘There’s something about you… You should come along to our next meeting. Let me guide you in discovering what it means to be a part of divine humanity, to connect to your primitive roots and honour your ancestors. I hope you’re hungry.’

Nadia stands behind a table wearing the same costume as described in the first image, except now, she has latex gloves on both hands. She holds both forefingers against her temples facing upward, so that they imitate horns. On the table, there is a white table cloth over it, a variety of herbs and spices, lavender hand cream, a silver dome serving dish with the kid off to the side revealing a red lump of (vegan) meat, and a wooden chopping board with some broccoli and a knife on top. The broccoli has been scattered around the table.

Nadia wears the same costume as described in the first image. Their face and head are covered in fake meat and blood, it drips down their face. They hold the bottom half of the silver dome serving dish behind their head, which is also covered in blood. This positioning creates the imagery of a blood soaked person with a bloody halo.
